Walt Disney Pictures recently announced the release date of their upcoming movie “War Horse.” The film is set to hit theaters on August 10, 2011.

The movie is based on a children’s book by Michael Morpurgo and is about a farm horse who is sold to the French Army during World War 1.

The movie will be directed by Steven Spielberg, produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures.
