Disney/Pixar has removed the movie “Newt” from its to-do list. Instead, the studios will be focusing on the upcoming “Monsters Inc 2” sequel and “Cars 2.”

The movie was set to be about the last two blue-footed newts on the planet who have to work together to save the species – but they don’t like each other! The movie was set to be directed by Gary Rydstrom, who worked on the Pixar short “Lifted,” which debuted in 2006.

Sad day!
