Here it is. The very end. So how does it begin?
The sun is shining and we see the oceanic plane landing at LAX. The luggage is coming out of the plane, it’s Jack’s fathers coffin. Now we see Jack in his office. Now we see Jack on the island. Back to the plane. Now we see Ben in the flash sideways. Now we see Ben on the island. And “Locke.” Now Locke is in Jack’s hospital. Back to the coffin. Now we see flash sideways Sawyer. Now island Sawyer, and Kate. Coffin. Island Sawyer and Kate. Off the island Kate. Oceanic luggage truck pulls up right alongside Kate. Desmond signs for Christian Shephard’s coffin – which is being delivered to the church.
Desmond gets back in the car with Kate, who asks who died. And then she wants to know why Desmond is bringing her to the concert and why Desmond is helping her. He says he can’t tell her why she is here.
And as for what I want. I want to leave.
Leave and go where?
Let me show you.
We now see Jack and Sawyer on the island talking about Jack being the new Jacob, not that that makes him feel any different. Jack tells the rest of the group what Jacob had to say – about the Heart of the Island…the Light.
Ahh, Hurley and his Star Wars references.
“He’s [Jacob] worse than Yoda.
Sawyer then goes off to “get that magic leprechaun out of that well, as in Desmond. But he’s not in the well, we’re assuming because he can jump back and forth between the island and the flash sideways.
We see Hurley’s yellow Hummer pull up, with Sayid, to Charlie’s apartment. Aww, c’mon Charlie, lets get it together. Hurley remembers Charlie, and it’s so cute. Turns out Charlie is playing at the concert tonight and Hurley is bringing him there.
What if I told you that you playing this show is the most important thing you’ll ever do.
And then Hurley tranquilizer guns him. Nice. Should have listened to him Charlie!
Back on the island we see Hurley, Jack and Kate who says that “Nothing is irreversible”. Foreshadowing anyone?
Now we see Sawyer, Ben and “Locke.” Sawyer came to find Desmond, who is no longer in the well. And “Locke” needs Desmond to destroy the island. So, where is he? And Ben takes another punch to the face – go figure. “Locke” seems a little confused when Sawyer tells him that there are no more candidates – we wonder if he puts two and tow together that someone has taken over the position.
Woah time out. They’re still on the island? Rose and her husband Bernard that is, and the dog! Bernard finds “Locke” and Ben, who want Desmond to go with them.
So Desmond heads off with “Locke.” And “Locke” seems confused why Desmond seems wiser than he should – about the island and the light.
Yes! Richard is alive! He’s with Miles after be thrown in the jungle by the smoke monster. Richard and Miles head off to blow up the plane.
And now we’re in the flash sideways. Miles sees Sayid and calls Sawyer who then says he will check on Sun to make sure she is safe. Oh and Juliet is at the hospital, and working with babies again. We love this. Juliet gives Sun an ultrasound and Sun begins to flash to when the same thing happened on the island. She tells Jin she remembers. And now Jin flashes and remembers too. And now they both know English. Ok we’re finally happy with Sun and Jin’s outcome, we were so sad when they died on the island. This is much better.
Sawyer runs back to the rest of the group on the island to report what “Locke” had said. Why is Jack always so calm about everything? We would be freaking out!
Back to the hospital in the flash sideways with Jack talking to Locke about the procedure they will be undergoing to fix his legs.
Back on the island we see Richard and Miles – omg. Richard is aging now. No no no no no! Why is he happy about this?
I think I just realized that I want to live.
The two take a canoe out and run over a body. They hear screaming and we find Lapidus floating – how did he survive the sub sinking? We thought he had hit his head and been knocked out by the explosion. Lapidus says he will fly everyone off of the island – don’t they know the plane is wired with C4?
Now we see the two groups come together – “Locke”‘s team and Jacob’s Jack’s team. Kate begins shooting “Locke,” who can’t die. “Locke” comes face to face with Jack and asks him “You’re sort of the obvious choice, don’t you think?” Jack begins to tell “Locke” how it is – fiesty. He says he’s going to kill “Locke.” But how? “That’s a surprise.”
Ohh, Jack and Juliet are flirting. And YES she’s the mom! Juliet and her son David walk right by Sawyer and doesn’t even give him a second glance – is this the way we want things to end? We’re not sure…
Back on the island we see the Losties walking through the woods. Suddenly “Locke” stops and says that just he, Desmond and Jack can continue on the path. and of course a storm is brewing – wouldn’t have it any other way. The three guys arrive at the tunnel filled with light – we’re almost hoping Jack pushes “Locke” in, but it seems that they are intentionally walking into the light.
Desmond says that he is going somewhere else when he goes into the light – he then tells Jack about the flash sideways. And how Oceanic flight 815 never crashed. But Jack has a point when he says to Desmond:
There are no shortcuts, no do overs. What happened happened. Trust me, I know. All of this matters.
In the flash sideways we see Hurley and Sayid in the car, with Hurley asking Sayid to trust him when he can’t tell him what’s going on. They witness a fight and Sayid flashes to his time on the island when he recognizes the girl – Shannon. Ok, so Sayid won’t end up with Nadia…
And here’s Claire, who found Miles, Richard and Lapidus, and begins shooting. Richard tells Claire they have a chance to go home and asks if she will go with them – she says no, and walks away. What does she want then?
Now we see Desmond being lowered into the light by Jack and “Locke,” but we’re betting he wont make it far before he flashes to the sideways world. “Locke” tells Jack that Lock wasn’t right about anything he said about the island.
Now we’re at the concert – Juliet gets a call from the hospital and walks off. Claire and David head in. Charlotte wakes up Charlie and sees Desmond, who recognizes her. But she doesn’t recognize him – bummer!
David and Claire sit down, with Desmond and Kate. And here we have Dr. P.R. Chang introducing Daniel Faraday/Widmore and the band Drive Shaft at the event. What in the world is about to happen at this event?
Charlie sees Claire. And her contractions begin. Kate goes to help her. Here we go again. Desmond looks so happy with himself.
Flash to the island where Desmond lands at the bottom of the cave. He finds the glowing orb in the pool of water and slowly walks to it and picks it up, letting the light out, or sucking it in? The light is gone. Uh oh. Oh please tell us the island isn’t about to explode.
Everything begins to tremor and Jack and “Locke” get into a fight. “Locke” is bleeding – looks like he can be killed. And now Jack is bleeding. “Locke” runs off.
Alright, we’re an hour in to this finale – and we’re not sure we’ve learned much. Where are our answers?

It’s gonna end like “The Game” where Jack is gonna come out and present everyone at the party a T-shirt that says “I crashed on an island for 5 years, and all i got was this stupid t-shirt”!
It is 11:07 EST and… is that it?
Terrific ending!
Was the ending in the Church suppose to mean that they all really died in the plane crash but that everything was merely, not a dream, but an alternate reality afterlife or something??? Confusion…
