Bummer – we kind of wanted to see which movie did better in theaters if they released on the same day! Turns out once the execs in charge of Vanessa Hudgens’ movie “Beastly” found out that V’s boyfriend’s movie “Charlie St. Cloud” was set to premiere on the same date, they delayed “Beastly”‘s debut.
So now you’ll only be able to catch Zac’s flick in theaters on July 30th and wont be able to do the back-to-back movie viewing you may have planned on because Vanessa’s movie no longer has a definite debut date.

Stupid Charlie St. Cloud. The damn movie just finished filming like yesterday…yet it still gets the July 30th time slot. That movie had an original release date of October, and now Universal just thinks it’s fine to get any little spot it wants….BEASTLY WAS FIRST. THIS IS BEYOND UNFAIR. I’M SERIOUSLY PROTESTING THIS MOVIE NOW. WELL WHATEVER,AT LEAST WE WON’T HAVE THE V-HATERS AND Z-LOVERS PITTING THEM AGAINST EACH OTHER. WHATEVER,AUGUST 11TH (MAYBE) HERE I COME!!!

That’s a BS move if I ever seen one. Beastly was stated to be released on July 30th and now had to be pushed back because A stupid life time movie like Chucky St. Clod decided to fall apon the same date? That’s really shady.
Um, there’s a rumor that Beastly will change there release date to aug 11 but i’m not yet sure and i still doubt they will…
What’s wrong with you people? Wouldn’t you rather NOT have them open on the same day? I have a feeling that Charlie St. Cloud is going to be a much better movie anyway. I know that the novel was fantastic. Plus, don’t blame Universal. It’s CBS that changed Beasly’s date. They could have left it on July 30 if they had wanted to.
We should be supporting BOTH Zac and Vanessa.
@James, that was a bit immature wasn’t it? Obviously, you’re a Vanessa supporter. And for the record, Charlie St. Cloud was originally slated for a June 11 release. And if CBS had been so confident that Beastly would do well, it wouldn’t have changed its release date. Lack of confidence, I smell. But honestly, Charlie St. Cloud looks like a way better movie. Just sayin’

It doesnt really affect me as I live in Australia, however I think Charlie st cloud should be released 1st because us aussies have to wait till September and if Its delayed in the states then we have to wait longer here to see the Gorgeous Zac Efron in his 1st serious role!! (charlie st cloud is being majorly talked about down here in australia its being named the most awaited film of the year)
so i think they should release Charlie st cloud first but honestly i think if they were released on the same day it wouldnt matter cause I think st cloud will get the most viewers no offense to V but alot more chicks would rather see a zac film then a vanessa!
ST. Cloud is not going to be release in Puerto Rico even though I want to see it so bad so I planed to see Beastly since I like the book but now I will have to wait even more.
Cherish – Just to set the record straight….Charlie St. Cloud is not Zac’s first serious role. He did Me And Orson Welles, and was really good in that. And if you count non-theatrical releases, he was marvelous in Miracle Run, a Lifetime movie.
