At a recent performance David Archuleta sang one of his new songs “If I Could Only Be,” which he said was fun to record and he hopes will appear on his upcoming album! He said it’s not the next single from the new album coming out at fall. He hopes the song to make the album. Anyway, it’s hard to form any opinion due to the not so good video quality. I could see the lyrics are about him, very him.
I’m a HUGE David fan and to me that song was not good. I don’t like the vibe at all, it just doesn’t sound like something he’d record. But he seems to like it so maybe it will grow on me.
I was thrilled to hear one of David’s new songs! I love the sound of that song and the way David sings it with his very, soulful side. David really seemed to get into the song and he brought it! I hope the song does make it on his next album. Can’t wait for his new music!

Sorry to say this, especially with this being the first song David has gone public with for the new album. It just sounds pitchy in spots and thats something I never thought I’d say about anything that David does. Its all but unheard of for David. But I noticed it on some of the higher notes. On the album, this probably wouldn’t be a problem. But the sound on this video was terrible,so it was hard to tell; or perhaps it was the acoustics in that place.
I absolutely love this funky soul sound and David’s voice is fantastic — yes, it’s a rough version but can you imagine listening to a clean version … I am hooked on this song and have it on repeat. David likes this song and I really hope it makes it onto the album

at first I didn’t like this song. I thought boring. After I gave it a few more listens it kinda grew on me. I like the music more than the words to it. It’s kind of catchy. So I think a cd version would be better because it would be clearer. I think it would be a good song on the cd, just not for a single.

Honestly, I wish there was a better video. What I can’t understand is WHY no one else there had a good sounding video? That being said…I LOVE David Archuleta! He really seems to groove to it leaving me no choice but to LOVE it too!
I just want to hear his voice again. He can sing anything and make it sound fabulous! That’s why writers love working with him!
