After CBS dropped the hit show “Ghost Whisperer” from its lineup, it was reported that ABC (who helped create the show) picked it up and would be showing it next season. However, it has now been reported that ABC has retracted their decision to continue the series.
Executive producers of the series, Kim Moses and Ian Sander, released the following statement:
After five wonderful seasons and over 100 episodes, we are disappointed to announce Ghost Whisperer will not be returning for a sixth season. We’ve had an incredible experience and owe a debt of gratitude to everyone involved. We continue our relationship with ABC Studios and look forward to developing many more successful projects together in the future.
We wonder what happened…
Luckily it has been reported that the show will go into syndication, which sadly means no new episodes, but at least it’s something!
Hopefully this is just a stalling tactic. I assume most fans are emailing CBS to stop them from canceling it still. Once it becomes reality that ABC is at fault they may change their minds.

Hundreds of Thousands of viewers who were living outside the reach of regular cable TV and not close enough to tune in for free; have for years missed seeing CBS shows, as it is usually the only network that satellite TV could not secure for a reasonable price so it just wasn’t offered. Now that IPTV is available to anyone with land line phone service, CBS has become available to hundreds of thousands. I myself began watching CBS when the channel was offered on my IPTV service. I’ve lived in this out of service area for 4 years and really missed my old shows, now my very favorite is gone? I guess I can do without CBS again, I’m taking it off my guide’s favorite list. Maybe I’d not be so pissed if it had been given a decent send off.
I am very disappointed that it will not be comming back…. I have watched it from the begaining.. Please bring it back… My friday night pizza won’t be the same.
