Sam Raimi To Direct “The Great And Powerful Oz”?

Disney is working on a prequel to the Wizard of Oz movie, titled “The Great And Powerful Oz.” It is now being reported that Disney has asked Sam Raimi to direct the movie. No word yet on if Sam will accept or reject the offer.

It is expected that the movie will begin filming by the end of the year and Robert Downey Jr is expected to be playing the lead character in the film.

We’ll let you know when we learn more!

   I would love to see him direct this- a little different than what we have seen, but I would love to see his take on the film! Fingers crossed!
