It is being rumored that a Doctor Who movie might be made, and guess who is rumored to be playing the lead role? Johnny Depp!
If the movie comes to fruition it will not debut in theaters until at least 2012, especially since Johnny is currently working on the Walt Disney Pictures movie “Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.” Do you think Johnny would be a good fit for the Doctor Who role?

Doctor Who is the world’s longest running science fiction television show. The comics are nothing but a spin-off. I have been a fan for 30 years. While I am American, Doctor Who is British and Johnny Depp, while amazing, is not suited for the role. If a movie is made, it should feature back story to events which have already been referenced so as not to collide with the current series. One amazing story line would be the Time War and the regeneration of the 8th to the 9th Doctor.
johnny depp as the doctor wouldn’t be right!!!! nothing against him but it should be one of the previous doctors. im from the UK and only 14 so i saw the first episode air from the 9th doctor but i have always loved doctor who since the 9th doctor and rose and if anyones to be the doctor in the film it should be matt smith christopher eccleston or david tennant also including companions such as rose (somehow back from parallel universe again) mickey jack martha donna amy rory sarah jane jo any of them. also the time war would be brilliant as a film or something more major than anything thats ever happened on doctor who with angels daleks cybermen and all that. but if disney made a film about doctor who it would be very strange and not as scary as it is now, it would definatly not be very good or atleast not as good as it is now.
I think that they should rethink this movie:
-Bring Steven Spielberg into the equation.
-Bring J.J Abrams into the story, with his anamorphic. lenses it would boost the action to a good level.
-Use good o’l David Tennant to revive this fail of a film.
Use John Williams as the music composer, using Murray Gold’s version, this could make it the most powerful story for Doctor Who of all time. Ending with a Regeneration. What’s the deal with the Daleks? I think my red 50′s style toaster looks better!
Why is Tim Burton directing this film? It makes no sense why he should. The last sci-fi I heard he did was “Planet of the apes” and to me, that film didn’t bode well with the fans. He’s a gothic director!
In all essence, please oh god, please don’t let this film go ahead, because there is so many opportunities involved in this piece of genre, if they work together, they could reveal a new masterpiece.
P.S Make sure you use “I am the doctor” theme when in either slow motion or epic action scenes. Mr J.
