The new Disney Junior channel has started production on a new a new animated series called “Doc McStuffins.” The show is about a 6-year-old girl who can communicate with and heal her stuffed animals and toys.
The show is being executive produced by Chris Nee, directed by Norton Virgien and produced by the Brown Bag Films company. The show will premiere in 2011 and promotes healthy living and taking care of oneself and others.
Here’s the description of the show:
Disney Channel’s ‘Doc McStuffins,’ a new animated series for preschoolers, is about six-year-old Dottie “Doc” McStuffins who communicates with and heals stuffed animals and toys out of her backyard clinic. The imaginative series, with an emphasis on healthy living, will highlight the importance of taking care of oneself and others. ‘Doc McStuffins’ is slated for a 2011 premiere on the soon to be branded Disney Junior blocks on Disney Channel, and Disney Junior channels around the world.
Nancy Kanter, the senior VP of Disney Playhouse Worldwide, said about the show:
Helping their kids live a healthy lifestyle is a top priority for parents. ‘Doc McStuffins’ combines every kid’s dream of their toys coming to life with valuable lessons about health and wellness.

It has been confirmed that John Lasseter will be working on the upcoming Disney/Pixar movie “Cars 2.” The movie is due in theaters on June 24, 2011.
John was the creator of Disney/Pixar’s “Toy Story” and also helped write and direct the original “Cars” movie.

Empire Magazine recently spoke with Disney producer/director Don Hahn who said that it is likely we will be seeing a “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” sequel movie. He told the magazine that Robert Zemeckis may be directing, saying:
Yeah, I couldn’t possibly comment. I deny completely, but yeah… If you’re a fan, pretty soon you’re going to be very, very, very happy.
