“TRON: Legacy” Toys And Electronics

Disney Consumer Products has revealed a number of new toys and electronics inspired by the upcoming Walt Disney Pictures film “TRON: Legacy,” which is set to hit theaters this December 2010.

Many of the new TRON-inspired products will be available this October and will be showcased at the San Diego Comic Con International Convention later this month.

Chris Heatherly, the VP of toys and electronics for Disney Consumer Products, said about the new toy and product line:

TRON: Legacy is a cutting-edge film with a unique futuristic feel, and we wanted to create products with new technology and high-end design that live up to what you will see on screen. This is not a typical movie line. We’re working exclusively with trailblazers who normally do not do movie merchandise, but they believed so passionately in TRON that they jumped at the chance to help us make great products.

TRON: Legacy Toy Line – full of toys that light up and have sleek designs.

TRON: Legacy Action Figures – These action figures are the first to feature impulse projection technology which brings the characters to life by projecting moving faces onto the helmet – which is also a feature seen in the film. Many of the characters even speak phrases from the upcoming TRON: Legacy film. Prices for these action figures range from $15-$40.

TRON Core and Deluxe Vehicles – These are detailed replicas from TRON: Legacy that come to life when a character is inserted in them. The vehicles light up and some even include sounds, launchers and light changes. These vehicles are priced at $14.99 to $19.99.

TRON Zero Gravity Light Cycle – This item features six-foot light-emitting trails and Air Hogs technology that allows the vehicle to be driven on a wall or upside down with a simple controller – cool! The TRON Zero Gravity Light Cycle will be priced at $34.99

TRON: Legacy Electronics – This line is designed for gamers who are looking for high quality, innovative TRON products. The new items are being put out by a number of licensees, including Monster, PDP and Razer.
