“The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” Brings In $3.9 Million On Opening Day

Walt Disney Pictures new family movie “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” brought in $3.9 million at the box office in both the United States and Canada on its opening day, Wednesday, January 14th. This is considered a “soft opening” and while the movie is expected to bring in higher numbers this weekend it is not expected to be a huge hit at the box office like Disney/Pixar’s newly released movie “Toy Story 3.”

On its opening day, “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” came in at number 2 at the box office, tied with “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” and behind “Despicable Me,” which brought in $7.1 million.

“The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” cost around $150 million to produce.

  1. Serves them right. Maybe Disney can begin to make GOOD movies again. And fire that “National Treasure” director too.
