The LA Times printed a scene-by-scene description of the upcoming The Little Mermaid ride at the Disney California Adventure park called Ariel’s Undersea Adventure.
In the ride, park guests will hop aboard clam shell shaped PeopleMover vehicles, similar to the ones at Epcot’s Finding Nemo attraction at the Walt Disney World, or the Haunted Mansion “Doom Buggies.”

Here is a description of each of the scenes that are being built in the ride:
When you load into your carrier, you will see a mural of all of your favorite characters and locations from The Little Mermaid. As you sit down you will hear Sebastian and Scuttle set up the back-story of the ride.
Suddenly you will be hit with a blast of cold air to make you feel as if you are submerging underwater and your vehicle will descend.
Here you will see Areil’s home under the sea while you listen to the popular song from the movie “Part of Your World.” Then the song switches to “Under the Sea” and you see the famous scene in the movie where Sebastian orchestrates all of the animals and their musical instruments.
Yikes! Now you’ll find yourself in Ursula’s lair where her evil eels Flotsam and Jetsam are waiting for you while you listen to the tune “Poor Unfortunate Souls.” Then your vehicle will ascend from the bottom of the ocean floor and you will see Prince Eric and Ariel on their rowboat where Ariel is waiting to be kissed. And of course, you will be listening to “Kiss the Girl.”
In the next section of the ride you will see an angry Ursula while “Love’s First Kiss” plays and storm clouds surround you.
But you can be happy again as the Happily Ever After finale scene arrives – but apparently not much about this scene is known as Walt Disney Imagineers are keeping it under wraps.
Ariel’s Undersea Adventure is set to open at the Disney California Adventure park in 2011 while a similar ride will open at the Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom in 2013.
Two new promotional photos have been released for ABC’s new series “No Ordinary Family” with Julie Benz, Michael Chicklis, Romany Malco and Autumn Reeser. The show is about a family who develops “super” abilities when their family vacation ends with a plane crash in the Amazon River.
Be sure to tune in for the series premiere of ABC’s “No Ordinary Family” on September 28 at 8/7c.
