Disneyland’s Alice In Wonderland Ride Is Closed For Repairs

July 26, 2010 |  by  |  No Comments

Disneyland’s Alice In Wonderland ride has been shut down for the coming weeks due to a possible safety hazard. No date has been set for the ride to re-open since it is unclear how long the repairs will take. However, it is assumed that the ride will not be closed for more than a few weeks.

The repair is apparently to help prevent maintenance workers from falling off of the track of the ride while they are servicing it.

Jim Hanks Voiced Woody In “Toy Story 3: The Video Game”

July 26, 2010 |  by  |  No Comments

When we started playing the new “Toy Story 3: The Video Game” from Disney Interactive Studios, we were curious if Disney paid the original “Toy Story 3″ voice actors to voice the characters in the game, or if they got new voice actors to do it.

When we were playing the game we could tell that there was something a bit different about Woody’s voice, but it sounded enough like Tom Hanks that we didn’t question it any further – until we came across Tom’s brother Jim’s IMDB.com page – which states that he did the voice of Woody in the game!

Turns out Jim Hanks is an actor as well, and he has done a lot of voice acting in the past. He will also soon be acting in and directing the movie “When We Were Pirates,” which stars one of our favorite actors, Jorge Garcia from ABC’s “LOST.”

Jim did not grow up with Tom. When their parents divorced, Tom and two of his siblings continued to live with their father while Jim, the youngest, lived with their mother. In the early years of Jim’s acting he went under the name Jim Matthews so he wouldn’t get roles based on his brother Tom’s popularity.

Jim was a body double for Tom in the movie “Forrest Gump” and has even been the voice of the Toys R Us giraffe Geoffrey since 2001. Jim has also voiced the Toy Story character Woody in a number of other projects for the Disney/Pixar franchise, including:

- Toy Story Racer (2001)
- Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure Begins (2000)
- Toy Story (1996)

LOST’s Jorge Garcia In “When We Were Pirates”

July 26, 2010 |  by  |  No Comments

We LOVE Jorge Garcia, better known as Hurley from ABC’s hit series “LOST,” and we were so excited to find out that he has signed on to do a new movie that will release to theaters in 2012. Not many of the stars of “LOST” have been offered new roles, so we have been bummed about that for a while, but with this new information it shines a light on “LOST” being over!

Jorge’s new movie is called “When We Were Pirates” and it is being directed by Jim Hanks. Not much information is available about the movie yet except for the fact that it is about a group a friends who are bound together by their love for playing pirate – fun!

We’ll keep you posted!
