Taylor Swift is a wonderful, beautiful, talented actress and singer. I just saw her on “Saturday Night Live”, and she was fantastic. I feel guilty for initially misjudging her, as I thought she was an “American Idol” redux, and I hate “American Idol”. Now to the point of this post.
Supergirl, the comic book hero, was one of my favorite heroes in my youth. Because of my unreasoned bias, I was totally against Taylor Swift portraying Supergirl in a new movie. However, after viewing Ms. Swift’s talent and demeanor, I must conclude that Ms. Swift is the perfect choice to portray Supergirl. America loves Taylor Swift (and I now do also), as she is sweet, clean-cut and wholesome. Disney will make a lot of dough casting Ms. Swift as Supergirl, as she is perfect for the role. However, the modern Supergirl must be portrayed in a “darker light”, such as the new Batman/Darknight, as a hero seeking revenge against Darkseid, who was part and parcel to the destruction of Krpton.
