Billy Ray Cyrus, father of Miley Cyrus and star of the hit Disney Channel Original Series “Hannah Montana,” turned 49 years old yesterday, August 25th. Billy was born in 1961.

Production for ABC Family’s hit series “Pretty Little Liars” season 2 begins on Wednesday, September 1st. A huge number of viewers tuned in for the first, nail-biting season, and the second season should prove to be even more popular! The second season of the show is set to premiere in January 2011 – who’s excited?

The third season of Radio Disney’s “N.B.T.” (Next Big Thing) will begin on Wednesday, September 15th. The series introduces a number of young recording artists and offers them national broadcast and online exposure to Radio Disney and Disney Channel fans who will then vote for their favorite artist. The artist with the most votes will have the opportunity to have their single released by Disney Music Group and to open for Allstar Weekend at a special holiday performance.
Michael Riley, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Radio Disney, had this to say about “N.B.T.”
‘N.B.T.’ exemplifies Radio Disney’s multiplatform programming strategy, which extends the listening experience and adds engagement opportunities for kids and families.

- KICKING DAISIES (September 29-October 12) — A four-member rock band–Duran Visek (guitar, vocals, age 15), Carly Kalafus (bass, age 14), Ben Spremulli (guitar, age 14), and Caitlin Kalafus (drums, age 17) — from Milford, Connecticut
- SACHA EDWARDS (October 13-October 26) — A 14-year-old pop and rock singer and songwriter from Los Angeles, California
- MATTHEW JOHNSON (October 27-November 9) — A 13-year-old pop singer and songwriter from Dallas, Texas
- COCO JONES (November 10-November 23) — A 12-year-old pop singer and rapper from Columbia, South Carolina who currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee
The winner of the third season of “N.B.T.” will be announced by Radio Disney host Ernie D on air on Friday, December 3rd.
Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment is releasing a 25th Anniversary Special Edition DVD of the 1985 movie “The Black Cauldron” on September 14th.
The movie is about a Black Cauldron that has magical powers that the Horned King will do anything to possess – but he is challenged by a young assistant pig keeper named Taran who dreams of being a hero! Taran embarks on a quest to stop the Black Cauldron’s evil once and for all, but will he succeed?
Here are the Special Edition DVD bonus features:

“Numb3rs” star Judd Hirsh will reunite with his former co-star Rob Morrow in an episode of ABC’s new show “The Whole Truth.” Rob is one of the lead actors on the show alongside Maura Tierney.
In the episode Judd plays the character Ruben Wright who is a well-respected judge who is accused of corruption and murder. Maura’s character will be the one trying to prosecute him.
“The Whole Truth” is set to premiere on ABC this September.
