We just finished watching the new Disney Channel Original Movie “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” and of course we loved it! The movie stars the Jonas Brothers (Nick, Joe and Kevin) and Demi Lovato along with Frankie Jonas, Alyson Stoner, Anna Maria Perez de Tagle, Meaghan Martin and Matthew “Mdot” Finley and is set to premiere on the Disney Channel on September 3, 2010 at 8/7c.
In the movie, the Camp Rock kids are heading back to camp, and Shane Gray (Joe) and Mitchie Torres (Demi) are really excited to get to spend the summer together – that is, until they find out that a new camp has opened in the area, called “Camp Star.” Turns out Camp Star might force Camp Rock to close down!
We are introduced to Camp Star the first night everyone is back at camp – but it turns out to be more of a threat than a meet and greet, with Camp Star putting on a show that Camp Rock can’t compete against since they haven’t been practicing for weeks like their rival camp.
When Mitchie gets back to camp she is determined to make it possible for Camp Rock to stay open because as she says to her fellow campers “We can’t back down!”
Mitchie puts her fellow returning campers in charge of the younger campers and they begin practicing their talents and having a fun summer, but Mitchie wants to prove to Camp Star that Camp Rock is the best! She challenges Camp Star to a competition – “It’s on!” But will Camp Rock have enough time to practice their musical numbers and dance moves?
We wish Demi and Joe’s relationship had had a larger part in the movie – like Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens’ relationship in Disney’s “High School Musical” movies. However, watching Joe and Demi kiss was definitely a great part of “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam”!
We would love to see a “Camp Rock 3″ and we would really like to see it in movie theaters. We think that Disney could tie up the first “Camp Rock” and “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” nicely with a third film. It was a let down somewhere around the midpoint. We were expecting more spectacular “wow” factor songs in the competition and it didn’t happen–it was more of a battle of the ballads. I can’t believe they played some of these songs and that the cast went along with it. Camp Rock the original was by far so much superior to this. So three disappointed viewers here.

Unlike the first, the musicial numbers were random. In real life no one is going to jump into song and know the dance moves everyone else is doing. The only dancing and singing in Camp Rock [the first one] was the ones in performances – which makes sense.

I REALLY want a Camp Rock 3 movie!!!!!!!! 2 yrs ago i was a HUGE Camp Rock fan and i still am!! When i found out about Demi Lovato, i started liking her a lot and i STILL do, after all these years!! I’m a HUGE Demi Lovato fan!! I LOVE the Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana but MY favorites are Demi Lovato, Jonas bros and Hannah Montana!! Demi is my idol/role model!! I LOVE her SOOOOOOOO much!!! GO DEMI AND JONAS BROTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ALONG WITH SELENA AND MILEY!!
