Zac Efron In Live-Action “Akira” Movie
It is being reported that Zac Efron may be in talks to play the lead role in a live-action adaptation of the popular anime story “Akira” created by Katsuhiro Otomo. The movie is set to be directed by Albert Hughes and IMDB lists it as releasing to theaters in 2013.
It is being speculated that Zac may play the part of Shotaro Kaneda, a young leader of a motorcycle gang called The Capsules. Shotaro is best friends with Tetsuo, who may be played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Tetsuo realizes that he has psychic powers, but he becomes destructive and Shotaro must start a fight against his friend.
Do you think Zac would be a good fit for this film? He has so many other movies coming up that we are really excited about too, including “The Lorax” and “The Lucky One.”
We also have our fingers crossed that some day Zac will share the screen again with his girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens, an actress who he met on the set of Disney’s “High School Musical.”

I am excited to hear that zac and vanessa are going to do a movie someday. I am quite sure it will be a hit.
Oh my god this has given me a terrible, terrible feeling. First of all i cant help but feel people have been remaking enough live action versions of classics to limited success, without polluting the memory of another of my favorite films. Zac F****** efron!?? are you kidding!? the animated film was dark as s*** with peoples guts bieng smeared across the walls. Does Zac’s wholesome disney image really fit this movie? F*** no. Would they just cast him so little girls will go see it? probably, but that would mean the film will be a pg, virtually cementing it as terrible. Please please dont let this happen.
Can disney and its wholesome bubblegum cast just keep thier insidious money grabbing claws out of this movie. YOU CANT DO DARK ZAC. DEAL WITH IT. OR RUIN ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES OF ALL TIME. YOUR CHOICE.
