Kanye West Thinks Taylor Swift Should Have Come To His Defense

November 24, 2010 |  by

Kanye West has now insisted in a rant he went into on November 23rd while on stage at a concert in New York that Taylor Swift should have come to his defense after he jumped on stage at the 2009 Video Music Awards and told the audience that Taylor should not have won the award she was in the middle of accepting. Here’s what Kanye had to say:

Taylor never came to my defense in any interview and [she] rode the wave, and rode it and rode it!

Kanye also said that if he wasn’t drunk that night he would have stayed on the stage longer. Classy.

Thoughts?

  1. quit giving him press. he has no talent and no class.

  2. stop talking about him, he’s nothing but nothing, i really don’t like him, he’s not a good guy and if he wants to talk about past, he should find anything else to do.

  3. lmao… at Kanye’s last statement. I absolutely love Taylor Swift to death… Bought speak now and everything. I think she is talented, and I think that she did deserve the award she one, especially because Beyonce went on to win the biggest award of the night later.

With that said, I do think that Taylor definitely rode that wave that Kanye West speaks of, simply because a lot of people I know didn’t know who Taylor was before the incident. While she was still famous, and just as talented prior, there were a lot of people who took the time out to listen to her music afterward that might not have before.

Sometimes I do wish Taylor had spoken about the situation, just once, especially since “innocent” is supposedly about it. However, she always sat back and let people bash him to her, or let him look like this monster (not that he isn’t an a$$), but I just don’t see how she could do that if she really meant the words that were in that song. And I think that’s how Kanye feels. If she really accepted his apology and meant what she said in “innocent,” then maybe once she would’ve come out and explained that to the public, and defended him…

Just my thoughts on the matter.

It’s hard in this situation because as much of a jerk Kanye can be, when you listen to his music, 808′s& Heartbreak and especially The Runaway (which is amazing), you can see where it comes from and what all that he’s going through.

When someone apologizes to you, knowing they did something wrong, especially Kanye West, and you still guilt trip them over it, or ride out that controversy, eventually they aren’t really going to feel sorry anymore… and I think that’s what happened.

Taylor was smart in riding out that wave though… it definitely didn’t hurt her. I just hope that eventually in the future they can have a mutual respect for each other because imo, they are both true & pure artists.

  4. Kanye West is rude and a hugel spoiled BABY!!!
