Disneyland had such large crowds this past week at both the Disneyland park and the Disney California Adventure park that both parks had to close their gates because they couldn’t hold any more park guests.
The Disneyland park was at capacity by 10am on Tuesday, December 28th, which is just two hours after the park opens, while Disney California Adventure reached capacity by 1pm.
So how do the parks handle the crowds? When Disneyland fills they send guests over to Disney California Adventure for a few hours before trying to get back into the Disneyland park. But when both parks reach capacity it causes problems.
Individuals with advance tickets and premium annual passes are still allowed into the parks, but even once inside the ride wait times are very long.
