Disney is working on their own “Wizard of Oz” movie titled “Oz, The Great and Powerful.” At first it was rumored that the role would go to either Johnny Depp, who works with Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, or Robert Downey Jr., who works with Disney’s Marvel company. It was then announced that Robert had won the role. However, it seems that Robert has stepped down and Johnny might pick up the role of Oz in the movie!

The movie, directed by Sam Raimi, will be a prequel to the original “Wizard of Oz” movie, in which the audience will get to see where Oz came from. According to reports, Oz is forced to flee a traveling circus at which time his hot air balloon is swept up by a tornado to the land of Oz which is run by two wicked witches!

The movie is set to begin production later this year. What do you think…should Johnny take over the role?
