Johnny Depp Talks About Disney’s “Lone Ranger”
Actor Johnny Depp will play the character Tonto in the Disney movie “Lone Ranger.” In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly Johnny revealed that the new movie would be really funny, saying:
What we’ve got so far screenplay-wise is really great, really funny.
Tonto is a Native American, and Johnny said the following about playing the character:
I always felt Native Americans were badly portrayed in Hollywood films over the decades. It’s a real opportunity for me to give a salute to them. Tonto was a sidekick in all the Lone Ranger series. [This film] is a very different approach to that partnership. And a funny one I think.
Now if only we knew who was going to play the Lone Ranger!

Really if he felt bad about the way Native Americans were portrayed in movies then why not get a real Native American to play the part, Just like the original Tonto.
