Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi Performing At The 2011 Oscars

January 29, 2011 |  by

Actors Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi, who voiced the Disney characters Rapunzel and Flynn Rider in “Tangled,” will be performing a song from the movie at the 2011 Oscars.

The song “I See the Light” from the movie, music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Glenn Slater, has been nominated for an Academy Award for Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures (Original Song).

Have you seen “Tangled” in theaters? What did you think of the movie and the song?

  1. Great news that they will re-unite to do their duet from “Tangled”. Fantastic movie! Funny, action-packed, and touching, with a developing romance between the two leads that is really remarkable considering they are animated. The scene that includes the song that’s nominated and that they will be performing, “I See the Light,” has been described as one of the best moments ever in animation (it’s the climax of their developing love and really special).

  2. I am a long time Disney fan, and have seen every animated film ever made by Disney, including the original Fantasia, in release, as a small child. In my opinion, Tangled is nothing short of the finest animated feature ever created by Disney, and ‘I See The Light’ is the single, most magical, most moving music ever created for an animated film. It’s better than ‘Kiss the Girl’ from Little Mermaid, better than anything in Beauty and the Beast, better than Aladdin — the best Disney has ever produced. Alan Menken is a genius and Glenn Slater is not far behind. This song fully deserves to win the Oscar, and Mandy and Zachary deserve recognition not only for the song, but for two performances that rank among the best ever presented in an animated film. I, for one, will be glued to my TV Oscar nite.
