David Archuleta Talks American Idol And Simon Cowell
David Archuleta spoke in an interview about what it was like to watch the new season of “American Idol” without the main judge Simon Cowell. Here’s what David said about whether or not Simon was “missed,”
It’s hard to say he’s missed, because I know he’s going to be on another show. I’m going to get my share of Simon, but I feel like he needed to be gone in order to get that new, fresh excitement. To let people feel like they’re watching something for the first time. It they kept Simon there, it would feel like it was getting old.
Have you been watching the new season of “American Idol”? Do you agree with David about Simon?
David also spoke about the young “American Idol” hopefuls, saying:
It’s great that they’ve incorporated a lot of younger people, because in the earlier seasons, they discouraged younger kids from auditioning because they didn’t feel like they were ready. It’s cool that people can start following their dreams at a young age. You don’t have to wait until you’re 30 for things to happen, you can be young and motivated and be willing to work hard, and I think it’s great that they show that. Especially now, with ‘Glee’ it’s allowed a lot of kids to love music and performing at a young age. All ages watched ‘American Idol,’ but I think it was nice to be able to show kids, ‘Hey, you can be here, too.’
We hope David appears on this season of the singing competition show!

Like the comments from David Archuleta about AI. I think Steven Tyler & JLO are great judges and work well with Randy. I actually like them better than I did Simon.
I agree. Simon’s nastiness was getting old. And he was even re-using his various descriptive phrases for both good and bad performances. I am enjoying the new season. And I hope David gets a chance to visit and sing something or do anything.
As far as I’m concerned, American Idol can now promote all the teenagers they want, they will never find another one with as much talent and appeal as David Archuleta!!!
He’s right too, about Simon. Thought I’d miss him, but haven’t at all. Am happy with the new judges, they are funny and kind too. Hope it promotes the planet to follow suit and get away from bullying and nastiness to others!!

I also hope that they will invite David to appear on the AI show again this year. It’s especially good for the young contestants to see another young former contestant that is doing well. Plus, I feel that the show should give these former young people the boost they need to continue in the path they’ve begun. And next, I want to see David Archuleta on “Glee”. Come on, GLEE!!!!!!! Who out there could possibly fit in better than this shy, totally cute, young man that looks like a high school student!!!!!
