Nick Jonas Steps Out Of The Spotlight Until Joe Jonas Releases His Solo Album

February 18, 2011 |  by

In the interview below you can listen to Nick Jonas talk about how he has been working on writing music and producing music for a number of different artists. He talks about how great it is that he doesn’t have to work inside a box and he can work on any type of music that he wants.

Nick also talks about how the Jonas Brothers are on hold for a while so they can each concentrate on their own things – especially with Joe gearing up to release his solo album in the very near future. Nick comments that he wants the next Jonas Brothers album to be perfect, so it is going to take some time.

If you listen to the very end of the video Nick makes a comment about how he wants Joe to release his solo album in the best possible scenario, and if that means he himself having to step back for a bit until the album is out then he’s okay with that. What do you think about Nick’s comment?

  1. I think Nick is a wonderful brother for that comment. And he’s actually been doing that. On the other hand, Joe is extremely selfish for allowing that. (Think mgmt is driving this.) When Nick was releasing his “side” project, Joe was already in our face telling us he was making a record too. Mgmt has said Joe’s is a transition from group to solo though. That’s the difference. Nick wasn’t trying to leave the group. Joe is. I guess he figures if he succeeds he can come help his mere mortal brothers with their next CD. Sorry Joe but you have someone writing for you and autotuning it.

  2. I think that this is all part of the way the Jonas Brothers work. They build up their own fanbases so that they spill over into the JoBros overall fanbase. It’s a good idea that could really get them far in the music world.

  3. Personally I’m not happy about Nick having to wait, and wait, and wait some more- until Joe is done and ready to go. Then who knows how long joe will be out promoting the record. Because lets be honest a record needs some good promotion. As good as the music may be, most records will not sell themselves, not even for huge well known/talented artists. Promotion is key to a successful record. Having said that, I understand why he would give his brother all the time and support. Some of which I think Nick did not get much of. He got amazing reviews, but as soon as it was Jonas LA time, everthing for the record got dropped. Which was a shame because that album is amazing.
In any case, I wish Joe the best, but I also hope he gets going soon. Because I would love some more NJATA music or some Nick solo music, duets anything would awesome.
In the mean time, a movie or some more cameo’s wouldn’t hurt the wait though. Broadway is amazing for him, but too far for me to enjoy.

  4. I definitely agree with Nick. Joe’s debut album will be coming out soon, and that’s the most important thing for him right now.
Maybe later on in the year, they’ll start on their 5th studio album. I know it’ll be amazing :) !
Also can’t wait to hear what Kevin has in store for us I just know it also will be something special :)
And maybe Nick, will be releasing another album? :) :) . I sure hope so.
Love those boys so much :) !

  5. OMJJ!!! i’m so happy for these boys so freaking much, they are getting older and are trying new things. They are doing so well and i’m sure they will go far in life. I love them and i really like and agree what nick mentioned:)

  6. I’m glad that Nick has to wait. I love Joe more than Nick. Joe is better looking than Nick. And Nick is a pretty good singer, but Joe is a little bit better singer. I still love Nick. But Joe’s better.

  7. from the business perspective i do understand why it’s important for joe, nick, and kevin not to have competing albums, but as a fan i really wish they didn’t have to wait. because each brother is so different and has a lot to offer musically. that’s what makes them so unique – all three of them could honestly stand on their own as solo artists – they have the talent and skill, which is very rare to find in a boy band. usually there’s only one talented one who has the ability to write and produce the music, while the others just perform it. the jobros all have the ability to write and produce. because they are waiting for the release of joe’s album it’s no telling when we are going to get to hear kevin’s (which i am most excited for – i heard it was going to be country, i am really looking forward to his country sound – kev has a great voice made for country music) and at this point who knows when nick will put out another album – i absolutely loved his last one.

  8. It’s nice to hear that Nick is willing to step back until Joe finishes promoting his album. But I think it would be unfair on Nick’s side. When Nick was promoting for his album, Joe didn’t really support him that much I think. Also, Nick was the reason why there is JONAS BROTHERS now. So, I think that everything is being unfair to Nick.
