Billy Ray Cyrus “My Family Is The Most Important Thing I Have”
After telling GQ magazine that the Disney Channel Original Series “Hannah Montana” tore his family apart and turned his daughter Miley Cyrus into a young woman whose actions he didn’t necessarily agree with, Billy Ray Cyrus has now come forward in a new interview to conduct a bit of damage control. Billy Ray told People Magazine:
It is very important to me to work on mending my family right now. My family is the most important thing I have, and we are working together to make sure our future is stronger and healthier. It is all a learning process, and we thank everyone for their support and respect of our privacy as we sort through very important family issues.

i wish there was a way everybody on the web would agree to give the Cyrus family some time for themselves to deal with their private family issues by themselves. All of these back and forth media reports are just aggravating matters for them. And until they get some privacy, they won’t have a chance to start reconciling with each other. I used to tell Miley that if I wouldn’t blame her if she ever decided to walk away from it all, to leave showbiz behind because the cost of it is just too high sometimes. Even before her dad’s comments, I always worried that the intense and immediate success she achieved would have some negative effects on her and her family, and for all intents and purposes, Miley seemed to be handling the fame all right. But then there were the “mini-scandals,” which were “mini” in that there weren’t catastrophic, but still they were a little embarrassing. I know that she’s not perfect, and she’ll make mistakes from time to time. Right now, I hope Miley doesn’t make the mistake of allowing her relationship with her dad to completely fall apart and die. Sure, she should make her own decisions. Sure, he may seem a tad out of touch. But his comments and concerns for her come from a place of caring. Sometimes parents will say things children won’t like, no matter how old they are. But that’s why they’re parents. Miley can feel betrayed, but I know for a fact that Mr. Cyrus would lay down his life for her and all of her family. I would tell Miley, “Give yourself some space. Even this will pass. And you will smile again, I promise you. And even if you never smile again, I will always love you. No matter what.” –Terrence Wayne
If his famliy is the most important in his life why did he say it then?
