Miley Cyrus Avoids The Topic Of “Hannah Montana” On Jimmy Fallon
Miley Cyrus appeared on “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” this week where she spoke about her hosting gig on “Saturday Night Live,” which will happen tonight, March 5, 2011. During the interview Jimmy kept trying to bring up the Disney Channel Original Series “Hannah Montana,” which Miley was a part of for 4 seasons, however Miley did her best to avoid the subject.
Chances are Miley had no interest in speaking about “Hannah Montana” because of the recent controversy her father Billy Ray Cyrus had surrounding the show when he told GQ Magazine that he thought the series destroyed his family and caused Miley to act out. Rumor has it that Miley and her father are no longer talking because of the interview.
Miley does however talk about her “Hannah Montana” co-star Jason Earles in the interview and briefly chats about his new Disney XD show “Kickin’ It.” However, Miley doesn’t quite seem to know what the show is about.
Watch below to listen to what Miley has to say and to see her try on a number of fun mustaches with Jimmy!

@Disneydreaming, It was obvious that she wasn’t so much avoiding talking about Hannah Montana as she was avoiding talking about her father’s embarrassing mental breakdown in the pages of GQ. It was equally obvious that Jimmy Fallon was headed in that direction before Miley Cyrus cut him off with her “AWKWARD” comment. In answer to Fallon’s question about whether or not she missed doing Hannah, she said yeh, she missed doing that stuff, and then said that’s why she loved doing SNL. She was obviously trying to move the discussion on to the topic she had come there to talk about, but Fallon tried then to move the topic back to her old show–and her father–which is when she said that the direction of the discussion was becoming “AWKWARD”. She’s been in enough interviews to know when one is headed for territory she has already told the interviewer she will not address.
I think you have to admire Miley Cyrus for tenaciously avoiding talking in public about the mental illness affecting her father.
I agree with the rest… this title is definitely misleading. She wasn’t avoiding talking about Hannah Montana at all, she said she enjoyed doing the show. I just feel the only time there was an awkward moment was when she was trying to avoid Jimmy potentially asking her about her father, etc.
And to the person who pointed out that her father may be suffering from mental illness, now that you mention it, I certainly wouldn’t be surprised.
