Guests Stranded At Tokyo Disneyland In Japan
After an 8.9 earthquake hit Tokyo, Japan and caused a tsunami a number of park guests are stranded at Tokyo Disneyland. The Disney park is currently a trending topic on Twitter and many park guests are Tweeting about what’s going on at the park. Apparently the parking lot is flooded and the park is closed to any further guests. However, those that were at the park when the earthquake struck are awaiting details on how they will be able to leave.
Even if the individuals could get their cars out of the parking lot, chances are that the roads around Tokyo Disneyland would not be safe to travel on.
The photo here comes from a Twitter user. We’ll keep you posted with any additional information.

My son has been there for a week, hes working for disney, cant get in touch with him bt have had a phone call from foreign office saying tokyo ok, But reading all reports about disney car park is worrying, and the oncoming after shocks.
Wendy, my friends daughter works there too and hasn’t heard from her. If you hear from your son, will you please let us know? The daughter’s name is Julie- she has red hair so is hard to miss. Thank you!
Our daughter left last week for Tokyo disney and lives at E village. She called from a borrowed cell phone at 3:39 to tell us they were evacuated to a school and were ok. She seemed calm. She had time to grab her passport and computer.
No word since. Our daugher is Lauren.
Hi stephanie, nathans girlfriend charlotte has been in touch with someone on twitter, they say nathan is ok, and as far as i know all disney staff there are ok, but can not leave, they have tsunami shelters for them, so hope they get in touch with us soon, hope she is ok, and both are home with us soon. xxx
We believe Julie flew over from ATL with Lauren.
nathan has now been in touch, he knows both your girls, he said he had to walk from disneyland to e village, took an hour but his bike was still there at train station where he left it, disney wasnt too bad, just when he got back to apartments, roads lifted, no gas or water only what they bought from shops and not much food, they have to wait for a notice from disney on outside wall to see what is happening, will try and update later.
My daughter, Cyndi Jones, and her daughter, Tori Jones, were at Tokyo Disney yesterday. I have not heard from her. Her cell phone goes straight to message mode. She has not texted. I am hoping they will find a way to get the people out of the park and back to their hotels. So much for her “dream of a lifetime” vacation. If anyone hears, I would appreciate knowing.
My brother-in-law, his wife & 8-yr old daughter had also been stuck since yesterday at Disney. They’re housed in the emergency centre which provided them with blankets, food, drinks and they’re safe. It’s probably safer inside the shelter currently than outside as temperatures are cold. The roads are pretty much closed when we last heard. So are the expressways. Hotels are not sending out pick-up buses for the moment. Cabs are also hard to find. Hope this helps.
All good – we have had a few aftershocks – but spirits are up. We are back in E-Village, everyone is ok and accounted for… We are looking forward to barbie ques and and roasting on the gas grill until power is restored, as well as water!
Until then, we are all strong individuals and we can make it through – thanks to OLC for building E-Village on rollers so the apartments can withstand any earthquake!!!
Hi everyone, as mat said above, everyone safely back at e- village but water been stopped now, nathan said they have now evacuated all guests from disney , still not sure how or where they have gone, but i am sure they will be safe, disney is closed until at least 21st march, i have seen video blogs on nathans facebook page and on youtube, it doesnt look too bad where they are and banks are still open and some shops but , if you want to see his page for pics he has put up his name is nathan shaw, twitter nate_shaw.
