Debby Ryan will star in a new Disney Channel Original Series titled “Jessie,” which is about a teen named Jessie from rural Texas who moves to New York City to explore life outside of her small town. Jessie soon becomes a nanny to a high-profile couple’s four children, and she finds herself living in a multi-million dollar penthouse.
Jessie takes care of the couple’s four children and one of their imaginary friends as well as their pet capybara. She has to learn to navigate life in the big city and she finds allies in the butler, Bertram, and the 20-year-old doorman, Tony.
The pilot for “Jessie” was written by Pamela Eells O’Connell (“Family Matters,” “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody,” “The Suite Life On Deck). Pamela will also serve as series executive producer, while the show will be created by It’s a Laugh Productions, Inc.
