Disney’s D23 club has announced that it will present Disney’s “The Parent Trap” as part of its 50 and Fabulous screening series on the historic Walt Disney Studio Lot. This is one of our favorite movies of all time, and it was remade in 1998 with former Disney star Lindsay Lohan, who acted the same role as actress Hayley Mills in the original movie, which arrived in 1961.
The screening of the movie will take place on June 18, 2011 at The Studio Theatre in Burbank, California at 2pm. Tickets for the event will become available on May 5, 2011 and the event is free, aside from a $5 ticket processing fee.

“Shake It Up” star Roshon Fegan attended a Radio Disney event in Houston, Texas recently where he performed the song “I Am” for the huge crowd! Were you lucky enough to be there at the event?
We’re hoping we get to hear lots more music from Roshon on the “Shake It Up: Break It Down” CD that is on the way! We’ll keep you posted when a tracklisting for the album is revealed.
David Archuleta will be performing at the Invisible Children’s Break the Silence event on April 25, 2011 in order to raise awareness and funds to end war in Africa. The Break the Silence event will take place at 18 venues across the country and a live video of the feed will stream online in order to help break the silence and raise money across the country. The goal is for each person to raise $25 for The Protection Plan, which is Invisible Children’s campaign to protect people from the Lord’s Resistance Army violence in central Africa. “Shake It Up” star Bella Thorne spoke with Latina magazine about her work on the Disney Channel, which is also home to stars Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez:
I’m excited to be following in their footsteps. I’m proud to be Latina and be on the Disney Channel and I’m honored that I can represent Latinas everywhere. I think my dad would be proud too, he used to say I was his Latina princess. I do look up to both of them. I met Demi briefly when I visited Sonny With a Chance. She was kind and wished me well on our show. [She] is a beautiful, talented girl who happens to be moving on in her career. She’s a brave girl. She’s dealing with her issues and I respect that. I wish her the best. I’ve worked with Selena a few times and she is not only kind, but very professional. She has lived a very happy, successful life and has always been considerate of her fans. She has done a wonderful job managing her career and keeping herself real — she is very talented, a hard worker and a perfectionist.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney has already asked Katie Wech, the writer of the upcoming “Prom” movie script, to write another teen movie for the studio. No word yet on what the movie will be about, but there is a chance that it could end up being a sequel to the movie “Prom” if the film does well enough in theaters.
We’ll keep you posted with any new details that surface, but in the meantime get ready because “Prom” hits theaters nationwide on April 29, 2011!
