Walt Disney Pictures new movie “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” is currently the top-grossing weekend movie of the year in the US. The film has brought in $90.1 million so far at 4,155 locations in the US.
Sadly however the movie is not doing as well as the previous two films in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise. “Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End” brought in $114.7 million in its first weekend in May 2007, “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” brought in $135.2 million in its opening weekend in July 2006.
