Disney Cancels “Imagination Movers”

May 30, 2011 |  by

The Walt Disney Company has canceled the Disney Jr. show “Imagination Movers” after three seasons on the air. The third season will continue to air on Disney Jr. until all the episodes have been run, plus we’re guessing that re-runs of past episodes will continue to run on the channel for a while.

In recent interviews the guys in the “Imagination Movers” band admitted that they plan on keeping the band up and that they want to continue making music and doing other projects – like maybe a movie or going on tour!

Are you bummed that “Imagination Movers” has been canceled?

  1. So….Disney cancels the best show they have and replace it with what….3rd and bird? That show makes kids dumb like most of the crap on nick jr. Movers have a tour in 2012 according to their website. I’ll take my kids to that. I hope some network picks this show up. I have 5 episodes on my dvr and my son makes us watch all of them daily. Disney….you owe us an explanation. Looks like we will be spending time on netflix with veggietales….

  2. Disney doesn’t care about anything but making money. I’m sure they wanted to take EVERYTHING from the Movers and leave them with a contract rendering their brand useless. I can’t imagine why else they would drop a show like this while airing total CRAP all day.

  3. Wow…that’s my son’s favorite show. I can’t believe Disney! Oh but they’ll keep crap like back water trash Hannah Montana airing forever- thank God it ended. It is all about the money…geez Disney.

  4. I can’t believe it! This show was one of my grandbabies favorite show even above Mickey Mouse! You really need to reconsider if its not too late. Imagination Movers were awesome!

  5. My one and a half year old loves the Imagination Movers! He lookes forward to it every morning, can’t believe you have done so Disney!!!! Taking away any educational show!!! Thank godness I have a few episodes on the harddrive to replay for him as he dances along! what a shame Disney!!!

  6. The episodes are available on iTunes!

  7. Brilliant, cancel a show that parents can watch with their kids without wanting to shoot themselves. The concerts are great but really we can only see those once a year, it’s not the same. It’d be nice if they had the seasons on DVD too. I know you can get them on iTunes but since you can’t burn to a disc it’s not really helpful. I hope they move to another network.

  8. This is awful! My kids love the show! I am so disappointed. I guess we will be watching nick jrs fresh beat band more. and just when they are finally having a channel for preschoolers. Makes no sense.

  9. I cannot believe they are canceling Imagination Movers. My granddaughter just loves them. She has even gone to 2 of their concerts and I went to one with her. They were great. I would rather watch them every day and NOT Phines and pherbs whatever you call it. That is very dumb show. KEEP this show on.

  10. What, have you all lost it? One of the only shows that promote creativity, great developmental skills & awesome problem solving. Thinking in and outside the box. There has to be something you guys can figure out( maybe watch a few episodes). We the parents enjoy watching this with our children. Really I’m at a loss for words. We need a fix for this error, like re-think this. For the betterment of all children, come on guys. Worst news of 2012!

  11. What a bummer! Disney should be ashamed of themselves. That show rocked! My kids (3 and 5) really enjoyed the Movers. Good luck Scott, Rich, Dave and Smitty, we ALL will miss you.

  12. I can’t believe they canceled this fantastic show! Not only is it completely unique to Disney, but it actually encourages old-fashioned problem solving and inspires kids brainstorm and well… think! I’m sick to death of show preaching or brainwashing my child, because I want her to learn and think for herself in the end. Most programs don’t do that. Most for kids are filled with propaganda that has no business in children’s programming. Even Mickey Mouse, while a cute show, has Toodles who always has what is needed to solve issues on the show. The Movers went deeper into things than that. Proved it isn’t always easy and you may fail, but it is important to keep trying.
We hate, hate, hate the new Disney shows. Jake and the Neverland pirates aren’t great and while my daughter loves pirates, finds it boring. The stories are not creative. Captain Hook always steals something, then the gang has to get it back, in the process they get some gold coins which go in the team treasure chest. Chuggington sucks, as does 3rd and Bird, Octonauts, etc. I guess Disney just found it much cheaper to do animation instead of live people on the Disney Junior programs. Blah! I will not watch the new shows, we will only watch Mickey and Einsteins. Get a clue, Disney!

  13. “Uncancel Imagination Movers!” He says he liked the “singing and problem solving”.

  14. My daughter LOVED this show!!! She is so disappointed that it is not on anymore!! This show should not have been cancelled if you compare it to some other shows that are still airing!

  15. I am so sad to hear that Imagination Movers will be cancelled. I began watching this show with my nephew, who is turning 4 in April and now have had the pleasure of watching it with my own 17mos old daughter. She loves Nina’s high pitched voice and loves to dance to Jump Up. It is so fun watching her “turn around.”

    Children’s entertain continues to fail.

  16. This is Ridiculous ! Try explaining to a 2 year old why his favorite show is gone. Every morning he yells “put the movers on” . Great job Disney! canceling the one show I can actually watch with my kids. Now we are having to watch the wiggles, and trust me it does not compare to the “imagination movers”. I hope some other network signs them up.

  17. I am extremely dissapointed that Disney would cancel this show. It is one of the best shows they aired. My son LOVES the movers and watches them every chance he gets. Who thought this was a good idea???? The show taught kids how to problem solve and think for themselves, while making it fun. My son loves the music. We have seen them on tour twice, WHAT AN AWESOME SHOW!! He will miss seeing the show on TV though. I think you made a bad move Disney.

  18. Disney dropped the ball on that choice. I have 2 toddlers and they both really love their music. My husband and I pretty much know all the songs. The least Disney could do is play the episodes already aired.
