Alex Pettyfer, who recently showed his diva attitude during an interview with VMan magazine, saying that Los Angeles, California was an “insidious pool where nearly everyone lives in fear. Geographically it’s fantastic… but socially it’s disgusting,” among other things, stars in “I Am Number 4″ as the character “4.” We haven’t read the book the movie was based on, so maybe that’s why we were a bit confused while watching the movie.

We thought at first that Alex’s character understood his predicament, with the voice over letting us know that he had come from another planet and was being hunted by evil aliens (who were seriously frightening looking, by the way) because he was one of 9 special individuals trained to protect his people, but later on he seemed shocked that he had powers…Also, it seemed a bit odd to us that someone who was next in the pecking order to be killed by the bad guys was so intent on going to high school rather than staying safe at home and keeping as low a profile in public as possible.

But we could get past all that.

However, it was when Alex’s character starting running through the woods that we started wondering what we were watching! The scenes were so reminiscent of the original “Twilight” film that we were ready for Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Jacob (Taylor Lautner) to jump out from behind a tree and join in on the fun. Thankfully there was only one scene like that.

But on to the rest of the movie…

“I Am Number Four” is an interesting concept and the actors each fit their respective roles well. The storyline was a bit difficult to follow at times, and seemed to move a bit slow, but all in all it was a movie that we hope to watch again in the future and catch things that we hadn’t seen the first time around.

Have you seen “I Am Number Four”? What did YOU think of the movie?

The Horses Selena Gomez Painted Pink Were Safe

May 26, 2011 |  by  |  No Comments

The artist Pink took to Twitter shortly after seeing Selena Gomez filming a music video on the beach with the help of some horses that had been painted the color pink. She was upset that Selena would do something she deemed inhumane to the horses, but, a rep for Selena released the following statement about the situation:

It was important to the Production Company, Record Label and Ms. Gomez that no animals were harmed and all proper precautions were taken. A non toxic, vegetable based powder paint was applied via an airbrush and removed with water. An official from the Humane Society was on set supervising.

The horses will appear in the music video for Selena’s song “Love You Like A Love Song,” which will be on her next album, “When The Sun Goes Down.”

“Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” Featurette “Blackbeard, Zombies, Mermaids”

May 26, 2011 |  by  |  No Comments

Here is a new featurette from Walt Disney Pictures for the new movie “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.” The featurette is titled “Blackbeard, Zombies, Mermaids” and discusses three of the new characters, and groups of characters, movie-goers will get to meet on the big screen in “Pirates of the Caribbean 4.”

We saw “Pirates” yesterday and thought the mermaids were a great addition. We didn’t think the Zombies played a big part in the film and Blackbeard could have definitely been more mean…Have you seen the movie? Maybe you feel differently!
