The Walt Disney Company’s subsidiary ESPN has acquired the television rights to the Wimbledon tennis tournament for 12 years, beginning in 2012. NBC has had the rights to the tournament for 43 years. No details from the agreement were released, however we do know that ESPN and ABC Sports President George Bodenheimer is “thrilled.”
