The Walt Disney Company has announced that there won’t be another ESPN The Weekend. The event was held at Disney’s Hollywood Studios this year and has been around since 2004, bringing athletes to Walt Disney World.
here is what Disney Sports Media Director Darrell Fry said about the cancellation of the event:
In order to focus our efforts on ESPN’s growing year-round presence at Walt Disney World Resort, we have decided to no longer host ESPN The Weekend. Moving forward, our focus will be on creating events like the new ESPN RISE Girls Showcase and the ESPN RISE Games, which provide a stage for tens of thousands of athletes from around the country.

Demi Lovato spoke with AOL about her decision to continue with her career after seeking help. As it turns out the star did consider never returning to acting or music:
I definitely had to reevaluate my life in every way possible and I had to consider not going back to acting and music as an option. Ultimately, at the end of the day, my health and my state of mind is more important than any career. I thought, ‘Music is something that keeps me healthy and that has saved my life at one point, and I love it and I’m not going to give it up.’
Demi then went on to talk about actor Robert Downey Jr. who has dealt with his own issues in the past,
He’s obviously dealt with a lot and he’s been able to maintain his sobriety and his career at the same time. I kind of look at him as an inspiration. And he’s not the only one, so I’ve seen that it is possible. I took my break away from it and it felt great, but now I’m excited and I’m ready to get back into it. This is what I love doing and nothing is going to stop me from doing what I love and inspiring people to better themselves.

Contact Music revealed that Selena Gomez never had boyfriends while she was in school, however that seemed to change a bit when the star was schooled on the set of her Disney Channel Original Series “Wizards of Waverly Place,” during which time Selena dated both Nick Jonas and Taylor Lautner. Selena, who is currently dating Justin Bieber, had this to say about middle school:
I never had guys in school ever! It’s a very awkward time in anyone’s life. When it came to a crush, I never told him. You’re not going to be able to fin that self-confidence until you are OK with yourself. I went to school until eighth grade. I was not the popular kid I sat in the back, I had, like, two friends. I was mostly schooled on set. I liked that.
Are you surprised that Selena wasn’t “the popular kid” in school?
