ABC Family’s “The Lying Game” Premieres August 15, 2011

We will be tuning in to ABC Family later tonight for “The Lying Game,” will you? Let us tell you a bit about the show!

We received “The Lying Game” novel in the mail from ABC Family. The book was written by Sara Shepard, who also wrote “Pretty Little Liars,” which was also turned into a television series on ABC Family. We finished the book in a day and couldn’t wait to get to the end to find out what happened! BUT, when we finally got to the end of the novel we found out the book was part of a series, so we didn’t get our answer yet! And now we’re just dying to find out what happened.

In the book there is a girl named Emma who finds out she has a long lost twin sister named Sutton. When she contacts Sutton via Facebook someone (who she thinks is Sutton) writes back to her and tells her where they can meet. When Emma arrives at the meeting place she is mistaken for Sutton and dragged off to a birthday party in Sutton’s town. She later finds out that Sutton is dead, but she can’t figure out who killed her! Anyone could have done it, from Sutton’s friends, or her sister, or even her missing classmate! And just like Emma, we have no idea who did it!

The show, premiering tonight, will be a little bit different. According to ABC Family Emma actually does get to meet up with Sutton and she volunteers to switch places with her for a while so Sutton can go off to find their birth mother. However, when Sutton doesn’t return home Emma begins trying to figure out what happened to her.

On the inside of “The Lying Game” book we received was the following message:

“To find the truth, you just need to know where to look.”

We then flipped to the next page and saw a letter underlined. We found these throughout the rest of the book. Here’s what the final message read:

“Search secret sneak peek on YouTube.”

When we did we found this:

“You’ve found the secret sneak peek of The Lying Game! Don’t miss the series premiere Monday, August 15 at 9/8c, only on ABC Family.”

Let us know if you’ll be watching tonight!

P.S. We NEED to get our hands on the second book in the series!
