Disney Channel “Zombies And Cheerleaders”
The Disney Channel has ordered a new musical series called “Zombies and Cheerleaders,” which will begin production later this year and will arrive on the network in 2012. Here is a description of the show:
“The story follows Zed Necrodopolis, a typical high school student with one small caveat; he happens to be a zombie. Despite a high-tech wristwatch designed to curb any appetite he may have for his classmates, he and his zombie friends remain unpopular with the school’s most influential group, the pom-pom wielding cheerleaders. Never one to back down from a challenge, Zed sets out to improve zombie student body relations and win the attention of Addison, the cheerleading squad’s newest member.”
The show is executive produced by Eric Weinberg (“Scrubs,” “Death Valley”) an written by Joseph Raso and David Light who also serve as co-executive producers. Todd Strauss Schulson (“A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas”) will direct the pilot episode.
We’ll keep you posted!

Hi, I’m Lea Gaymon. I like to Sing, Dance, and Act. I Love to dance so much. I’ve been in Concerts for dancing. I’m Very talented.
the project is lovely, the only bad thing is that I am far from the country!
This sounds like my destiny! I can act, and dance. (not sing) but I act very well. I am an actual cheerleader at my school so maybe that helps a little?
Contact my e-mail to keep me posted on casting dates…please.
I enjoy to act and dance all the time. I am a cheerleader on an all-star team. I would love to have a chance to be on this show. I have a tumbling coach for any flips I need to be on the show. I’ve been in acting classes also. I sing a little but I need coaching also. I live in California so please keep me update.
What? Oh not this again. I am tired of zombies, vampires, ninjas, werewolves, and pirates. For goodness sake: BILLIONS of dollars at your disposal, and not one person can come up with a NEW concept? Come on Disney! Is it that difficult to find good writers? There are literally THOUSANDS of people out there with fresh ideas that have not been done to death.Let me say it plainly.
ZOMBIES and VAMPIRES and WEREWOLVES are PLAYED OUT.
That market has been saturated, and we will be good for about fifteen years or so on anything involving them.
Also, whoever told you that Shake it Up, A.N.T. Farm, Jesse, Fish Hooks, and several of your other newer programs were good– They LIED. None of these programs have the sustainability, or potential for longevity that others (i.e. The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Hannah Montana) have had in the recent past. I suggest that you look into the future, and hire someone who has FRESH ideas, rather than a staff of writers who are only capable of combining what is currently popular and regurgitating it under the guise of creativity.
sincerely,
Someone that likes originality.
Lol, Disney did that with Wizards Of Waverly Place only. Calm down, just don’t watch the channel. You act like someone’s forcing you to watch it.
Really, who freakin cares? Disney Channel is the Mekka of un-originality. Some people just seem to like that, but, come on, Hannah Montana was original? Yeah, right…
