The 2011 National Christmas Tree Lighting took place on December 1, 2011 on the Ellipse at President’s Park in Washington, D.C. Kermit The Frog, from the Muppets, was at the event and was lucky enough to join First Lady Michelle Obama on stage at the ceremony to read a story to the guests.
