Sarah Hyland Upsets One Direction Fans
Uh oh! “Modern Family” star Sarah Hyland was one of the stars who attended the 2012 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards last night, and it sounds like she might have upset some One Direction fans while she was on the orange carpet for the event. Sarah was asked if she liked the group One Direction, and her answer was,
Um, I’m 21.
Yikes! One Direction is part of the Nickelodeon family – going on tour with Nick’s group Big Time Rush, appearing in an episode of Nick’s hit show “iCarly,” and reportedly working on a project with the channel, so this might not have been the best place for Sarah to make this comment. I am OFFENDED!!!! If she doesn’t like them well congrats but you have to be careful what u say!!!!! and I mean , I have a friend whose 21 as well and she likes em’! Seriously…… but most of all it depends what tone she said it.. if she said like a smart butt then people are offended if she innocently said it , than I’m fine!
I respect her opinion. I do not care that she doesn’t like them. I just care that she gave a wise remark. One direction isn’t a “little kid band”. You can love them even if you are old! Just because they performed at the KCAs doesn’t make them immature! They even said themselves they want to appeal to all genders and all ages. I think even if I was as old as her, I would like them! And to think she said it THERE, where they were PERFORMING!
Leave her alone. It’s her choice and her answer.

I think thats awful! I mean, onedirection is a mature boy band, not the wiggles or something like that! Sarah, you could have polietly said, “no, i liketheir music but i wouldnt nessisrily date them,” or something along those lines. But my aunt in her thirtys likes one direction still. I love them and will support them through everything.
I think she should have said something like: I think I am too old to like them..they are a good band but I’m 21 now. I think that would have been better than saying. Um…I’m 21

Um i’m 21 seriously louis is 21 she is the same age as them stupid sorry but i’m offended i’m a directioner and i don’t understand why she does’nt like them i mean i do respect the fact that she has her own opinion but her being 21 is not a reason she should at least have a real reason to not like them but she needs to be carful what she says anyways

Knowing that directioners were around her, 1D were performing at that exact time, and she was in an interview about them; she said ‘that?!’ I respect her and what she said but she could have said that in a better way! Like if i were her and weren’t really interested in 1D, i’d day something like:
“Well they’re really good but as i get older i don’t really have time to listen to their music.”
or
“They’re really good actually but i don’t listen to their type of music as much”
Cmon’ sarah!
