  1. I watched the “Shake It Up” episode last night on the protest against uniforms with my 10 and 12 year old, both of whom attend Catholic Schools. My heart broke when my son said, “Mom, it’s like they are making fun of us. We wear unforms and we have to leave our cell phones at the principal’s office.” Why are they making such a big deal about this? I agree–is this what we want to teach our kids? Since switching over to Catholic School from public school my children have blossomed. They no longer worry about what peole will think about their outfits and mornings are really easy–a real blessing for two working parents. That episode of “Shake It Up” really sent the wrong message. Gunter and Tinka had it right, once you do away with the unnecessary, superciality of clothes you have more time to concentrate on what’s important and why you’re at school–to LEARN!!!!
