Shonda Rhimes Is Upset About ABC Family’s Show “Bunheads”
Uh oh. ABC show creator Shonda Rhimes (“Grey’s Anatomy,” “Private Practice,” “Scandal”) is upset with ABC Familiy’s new show “Bunheads.” Here’s what Shonda Tweeted when she tuned in for the premiere of the series:
Hey @abcfbunheads: really? You couldn’t cast even ONE young dancer of color so I could feel good about my kid watching this show? NOT ONE?

Oh PLEASE! The race card yet again? I am so tired of racist tokenism I could throw up! If society is supposed to be colorblind, then don’t bring this up over and over and over again. If the actresses/dancers who auditioned are qualified, let them be on the show. Personally, I would not want to tell a person of a different race that they only reason they got a part was because of their race – not their talent. Let 60′s racial issues be left back in the 60′s, and lets get on with supporting a great show!
