A Mom Is Suing Justin Bieber Because His Concert Was Too Loud

July 13, 2012 • By

A woman named Stacey Wilson Betts took her daughter to a Justin Bieber concert in July 2010 and she is now suing him, his label, the show promoters, and the venue for $9.2 million. Stacey is claiming that she has suffered hearing loss, severe ringing in her ears and oversensitivity to sound since the concert had sounds that “exceeded safe decible levels.”

Here’s what Stacey’s legal documents state:

[Justin Bieber] climbed into a heart shaped, aluminum/steel gondola and was pulled out over the crowd [creating a] wave like effect of screaming [and he] enticed the crowd into a frenzy of screams by continuously waving his arms in a quick and upward motion. Due to the negligence of Justin Bieber [and the sound engineers who are] responsible to maintain safe decibels at all times during their events [the gondola acted as] a sound conductor.
