George Lucas Donating Money From Disney’s Acquisition Of LucasFilm To Education
George Lucas is making $4.05 billion from the sale of his company LucasFilm to Disney, and he plans to put a lot of that money toward funding education initiatives. A spokesperson for LucasFilm revealed that the majority of money from the sale will go toward philanthropic endeavors, which most likely include his own organization: George Lucas Educational Foundation.
Here’s a statement from George about selling LucasFilm to Disney:
For 41 years, the majority of my time and money has been put into the company. As I start a new chapter in my life, it is gratifying that I have the opportunity to devote more time and resources to philanthropy.
We love that George will be using so much of his money to fund great organizations and philanthropies!
