December 20, 2012 Is The 200th Anniversary Of The Grimms’ Fairy Tales
Today, December 20, 2012, is the 200th anniversary of the Grimms’ Fairy Tales! The publication was a collection of stories taken down by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. The brothers listened to stories from people around the world and compiled them into a book that has played a large role in many of our favorite Disney movies.
A number of Disney films are based on stories found published for the first time in the Grimms’ Fairy Tales. Before the publication arrived the stories traveled around the world by word of mouth alone.
Without this book Disney would not be what it is today – as many of our favorite movies would never have been made!
