James Franco Named The Grand Marshal Of The 55th Daytona 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
James Franco was named the Grand Marshal of the 55th Daytona 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Sunday, February 24, 2013. The race will take place at 1pm EST and will be broadcast on FOX.
James will be in charge of telling the cars when to start their engines and he will participate in the pre-race ceremonies.
Daytona International Speedway President Joie Chitwood III had this to say about James being a part of the race:
We’re excited to welcome James Franco and have him take part in the pre-race festivities for the Daytona 500. In front of thousands of race fans and millions more watching on FOX, we’re looking forward to hearing James’ enthusiastic starting command to kick off the Daytona 500 and the new NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season.
