Jesse McCartney Discusses His “Army Wives” Character
Jesse McCartney sat down for an interview with Glamoholic magazine where he chatted about his upcoming role in Lifetime’s series “Army Wives.” Jesse told the publication:
I play ‘Private Tim Truman.’ He’s a young army recruit from a small town in Illinois, whose passion in life is to go and fight for his country. He’s eager, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, and always in a good mood. He has no idea what he’s really getting himself into in Afghanistan.
Jesse also spilled details about how he got the part:
It was made known that the show was looking to hire some younger actors for its 7th season, and I had always wanted to play a soldier. I read for the role in late 2013 and they invited me on at the beginning of this year. One of the main reasons I was attracted to play this particular character is because of how lighthearted and sweet the guy is. He’s the kind of person that’s uncomfortably nice to everyone all the time, so, naturally, that leads to a lot of comedic moments, particularly with his sideman / best friend Hector Cruz, who is almost always in a bad mood. It’s a really nice dynamic. Also, I’m so used to playing the villain or the criminal in everything, that this was a nice change of pace.
Do you plan on watching Jesse on the 7th season of “Army Wives”?
