Ed Sheeran wrote the songs “Little Things” and “Over You” for One Direction, which were included on 1D’s “Take Me Home” album. When One Direction and their management team approached Ed about writing more tunes for the guys, he told them that he wasn’t interested.

Ed explained to MTV that the reason he turned down the writing opportunity is because he’s working on his own album right now!

I haven’t done any songs on this one [One Direction’s next album]. I’ve actually kind of cut myself from giving any people songs at the moment, because I want to make my album. I was approached, and it wasn’t so much a ‘No’. it was just a ‘I want to write tunes for myself at the moment.’

We can’t wait to hear Ed’s next album, but we also can’t wait for him work with One Direction again in the future!

Have you heard about One Direction’s big announcement?
