“Glee” creators were trying to figure out if they should take the show off the air after Cory Monteith passed away, but it turns out Cory’s girlfriend Lea Michele felt it was best for herself and her fellow cast members to get back to work. Ryan Murphy revealed to E! News:
Ultimately the person who made the decision was Lea, who felt that the best thing for the cast and crew was to be together and to get back to work and be together every day and talk about our memories of him. So we decided to do that with Lea’s blessing and we’re going to go back to work and have grief counselors on the set for two weeks because people are really hurting.
The third episode of the new season will pay tribute to Cory. After that there will be a hiatus where the writers will work to determine what happens next in the story line now that a major character is gone.
Our thoughts are with everyone in Cory’s life during this very sad time.
