Disney Buys The Rights To The Indiana Jones Franchise
The Walt Disney Company has purchased the rights to the Indiana Jones franchise. Paramount Pictures retains distribution rights for the first four movies, and the company will be included in any future installments.
According to sources there are no plans for a fifth Indiana Jones film, but that doesn’t mean plans won’t arise in the coming months. In fact, George Lucas had already come up with an idea for another film in the franchise, but no script was ever written.
It has yet to be revealed how much Disney spent on the franchise, or if Disney plans to expand the Indiana Jones attractions at the Disney Parks. We’ll keep you posted!
