“Harry Potter” Play Coming To London’s West End
J.K. Rowling, author of “Harry Potter,” is planning to open a “Harry Potter” play in London’s West End within two years. J.K. is set to co-produce the show, and she will also be helping to write the play.
According to sources the play will focus on the untold story of Harry Potter’s childhood as an orphan.
Show producers include Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender. Here’s what J.K. had to say about working with Sonia and Colin:
[Sonia and Colin's] was the only [play pitch] that really made sense to me, and which had the sensitivity, intensity and intimacy I thought appropriate for bringing Harry’s story to the stage. After a year in gestation, it is very exciting to see this project moving onto the next phase.
This is so exciting!
