Michael Strahan Nickelodeon Kids Choice Sports Awards

Nickelodeon just made a big announcement – they will be hosting the first Kids Choice Sports Awards this summer! The show will be hosted by Michael Strahan, former NFL player and current host of “Live With Kelly And Michael.”

The show will broadcast live from the Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles, California on July 17, 2014.

Here’s what Michael had to say about hosting the awards show:

It is a real honor to be the inaugural host of the Kids’ Choice Sports awards. As an athlete and as a father to four kids who grew up with Nickelodeon, I know firsthand what an important role sports play in kids’ lives. This is going to be a kids’ Super Bowl-sized event that will have the best athletes, the best entertainment, the most fun, and of course the best slimings the world of sports has ever seen for the whole family to watch together.

Nickelodeon has also announced a Kids Choice Sports Council that will appear at the show, which includes:

Ken Griffey Jr.
Baron Davis
Cal Ripkin Jr.
Deion Sanders
